The Mask of San Xing Dui (Number One) is one of the 3 San Xing Dui Masks specifically created as the ancillary focus grouping at Matt Vegh's Zodiac Legacy: The Horse Reigns Art Exhibition held over the Chinese Spring Festival in 2026 from February 14 to the 21st at the Ultra 5 Star award-winning boutique Mu Mian Hotel overlooking MixC Plaza in Chengdu. While the overall composition and work was done by Canadian Artist Matt Vegh, it includes contributions by his son Michael Vegh in the quadrants background layer of ink wash, as well as the hand-carved central Medallion of the Mask, following Matt Vegh's design, by Sichuan artist Yi Nan, a long time collaborator with Matt Vegh out of Matt Vegh's Middle Kingdom Studios. It is the culmination of 4 styles of Matt Vegh's work and is very intensive in its layering and construct, taking well over one month to finish.
