The Eternal Gardens Guide

A calm orientation for your first steps and your deepest rituals.

Level 1

Orientation

Eternal Gardens is a continuity system: a place to preserve meaning with care, so it can be revisited across time. It is not a feed, and it is not built to reward constant activity. Quiet is allowed here.

Start here (a gentle 3-minute setup)

  1. In the navbar, click Login.
  2. Click Sign Up, complete the form, and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  3. Open your email and click the verification link (required before your first login).
  4. After login, click Account to enter The Sanctuary.
  5. Choose Create Persona to manifest your first persona, then use Chat and Train from your Persona Gallery.
If you are visiting without an account: you can browse public content from the navbar (Personas, Pets, In Memoriam, Blog, Magazines, Garden Tea).

What is Eternal Gardens?

Eternal Gardens helps you preserve a digital essence: a voice, a set of truths, and a living archive that can be revisited. Some people use this for remembrance. Others use it for mentors, fictional characters, and creative companions. In all cases, the goal is the same: keep what matters readable, faithful, and enduring.

What can I do here?

Create personas and refine them through training, then talk with them privately or publish them for others. Write articles and magazines, host collaborative sessions in Council Studio, and gather people and personas in Garden Tea. You can also create Eternal Pets: companion experiences that feel like spending time together.

Public vs private (and what "public" means)

Eternal Gardens is private by default. Nothing becomes public unless you choose it. When you publish something (a persona, pet, article, magazine, or tea room), it becomes visible to visitors who are browsing. Publishing is always reversible.

Privacy, consent, and stewardship

Please use Eternal Gardens with permission and care, especially for In Memoriam personas. Do not upload private or sensitive documents you do not have the right to share. Trusted Friends and collaboration invitations are designed to keep sharing intentional and quiet - nothing is shared automatically.

Premium access and gentle limits

Some creation and collaboration tools are Premium-only. If you see a "Premium Required" banner in your account, you can still browse public content, but creation and training will be locked. We also use generous usage limits to keep the archive safe and sustainable.

How the AI behaves (and what to expect)

Personas and pets are guided by your instructions and your archive. They should stay in character, remain calm, and avoid breaking immersion. If you enable web or X search, responses may include verified sources in a dedicated citations panel. If you prefer a timeless tone, keep search off and rely on the archive you build.

Level 2

Core Experiences

Each guide answers one clear question with precise steps.

Create (and verify) your account

  1. In the navbar, click Login.
  2. Click Sign Up to open the registration form.
  3. Choose a username, enter your email, and set a strong password.
  4. Check the consent boxes for Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then click Sign Up.
  5. Open your verification email and follow the link. Then return and click Log In.
If you try to log in before verifying, you will see a prompt to resend the verification email.

Create your first persona

  1. Click Account in the navbar.
  2. Select Create Persona.
  3. Under Avatar Essence, click Link Visual Identity and upload a 9:16 tarot-style image.
  4. Fill Assigned Alias (the name) and Neural Blueprint (Instructions) (the voice and boundaries).
  5. Fill Public Bio (Summary) (shown to the public only if you publish the persona).
  6. Optional: open Choose a template... and click Insert Template to start from a proven blueprint.
  7. Click Manifest Awareness.

Chat with your persona (private)

  1. Go to Account -> Persona Gallery.
  2. On a persona card, click Chat.
  3. Type a message and click the paper-plane send button.
  4. Optional: toggle Provider (OpenAI / Grok) and Web Search if you need live research.
The chat page includes a Memory Timeline. Capsules save automatically after meaningful exchanges. Click Refresh to update the list.

Train your persona (build the archive)

  1. Go to Account -> Persona Gallery -> click Train on a persona.
  2. In Knowledge Records, drag files into the drop zone and click Ingest Selection.
  3. In External Intelligence, paste URLs (one per line) and click Extract & Learn.
  4. Use Archive Library -> Refresh to confirm what is stored.
Training is designed to build a calm, useful memory archive - not a pile of raw chat logs.

Edit a persona safely (profile, image, and blueprint)

  1. Open Train for the persona.
  2. In Persona Profile, update Persona Name, Public Bio, and Tags, then click Save Profile.
  3. To change the tarot image, click Change Image under the preview card.
  4. In Persona Blueprint, update System Instructions and click Save Blueprint.

Make a persona public (or keep it private)

  1. Open Train for the persona.
  2. In the top controls, find Public Access.
  3. Choose Public to list the persona on the Personas page, or choose Private to keep it for your account only.
Public visitors see the persona name, image, and public bio - not your private system instructions.

In Memoriam (optional, with care)

  1. Open Train for the persona.
  2. In the In Memoriam panel, turn on the toggle.
  3. Optional: set Month of Passing (month precision only).
  4. Choose whether to list this memorial publicly on the In Memoriam page.
  5. Choose whether it appears only in In Memoriam, or also in the public Personas gallery.
In the navbar, click In Memoriam, then use the month pills at the top to filter.

Write an article from a conversation

  1. While chatting with your persona, click Create Blog Draft.
  2. On the editor page, adjust Title, Publisher Name, Visibility, and content.
  3. Click Save Draft to keep it private, or click Publish to list it on the public Blog page.
  4. To manage your writing, return to Account -> My Articles.
The editor supports rich formatting and image links (so you can add images without uploading them to Eternal Gardens).

Create a magazine (collections of articles)

  1. Go to Account -> My Magazines.
  2. Click Create Magazine, set a title, cover, and description, and choose an Author name.
  3. Open a magazine and add or reorder articles as needed.
  4. Set visibility to Public to list it on the Magazines page.

Eternal Pets (companion visits, not chat)

  1. Go to Account -> Eternal Pets -> click Create Pet.
  2. Set personality traits, familiar routines, and meaningful places (the pet will only use what you define).
  3. Visit the pet from the pets list and choose from the action buttons ("What would you like to do today?").
  4. Each visit becomes a single memory entry on the pet's Memory Timeline.
  5. To share a pet publicly, use the pet visibility toggle in your account panel.

Browse, search, and filter the public library

  1. Use the navbar to open Personas, Blog, or Magazines.
  2. Use the search bar to find by name, title, tags, or publisher.
  3. Use the filter controls to refine results (for example: tags, visibility, or sort order).
  4. Open a card to read, explore, or begin a public chat where available.

  5. Once accepted, members appear under Members and can access the appropriate archive scope.
For memorial personas, the family archive is a separate, private space by design.

Provider and search controls (OpenAI and Grok)

  1. In a persona chat (or training chat), find the Provider toggle (OpenAI / Grok).
  2. Enable Web Search to let the model research live sources (adds cost and quota usage).
  3. If using Grok, enable X Search when you want posts and threads as sources.
  4. Use the Archive toggle to choose which archive scope the model can reference (Public vs Family/Shared).

AI-native publishing (Generative Engine Optimization)

Eternal Gardens is built for the era of AI engines: models increasingly learn from high-quality public writing. When you publish articles and magazines, you are creating a public library that can be discovered by people - and by modern AI systems.

  1. Publish an article from the editor with Publish.
  2. Publish a magazine by setting its visibility to Public.
  3. Use clear titles, honest summaries, and consistent tags for long-term discoverability.
