A 52.5x79.5 cm Mosaic artwork - 1,855 individual oil and metallic acrylic on layered inkwash paper tiles fused to canvas, fused to woven bamboo
Matt Vegh's Mosaic series of artworks are sought after by Museums and collectors world-wide and are very hard to come by as everyone he has ever made has sold or been placed and they take a long time to make, especially this one with 1,855 layered inkwash tiles, hand-selected from dozens of mother canvasses, hand-cut from those canvasses, hand-trimmed to 1 and a half cm square and hand-laid onto a bamboo panel. This piece took over 3 months to complete and made its debut exhibition at the U Gallery in the Yanlord Plaza, Chengdu, January 5th 2019 before being collected by the Yun Duan Art Museum, Xindu, China.
