Figures by the Minjiang River is the sibling of the mother canvas (the 1st attempt at a landscape series) by Canadian Artist Matt Vegh and it was completed in the Spring of 2021 and then it was sold June 19th, 2021 at the Shanghai Bellagio CEO Art Auction to an executive of a major IT company in China for $30k USD equivalent and was the 4th highest hammer price of the evening. There is a "cut" smaller vertical painting that came from the same mother canvas that this painting came from and that smaller painting was collected by a repeat collector from Wenjiang, Sichuan Province. The mother canvas still resides in Matt Vegh's main studio gallery in Chengdu and is considered one of his historic and iconic works of art.
