Story and context

One of the most pivotal moments in Matt Vegh's art trajectory: the complete sale of his 2-time international award-winning "Four Seasons" series in the summer of 2017.

This body of work remains his all-time best seller and has served as the foundational DNA for nearly every iteration and evolution of his practice since.

Created during a two-week artist residency and international exhibition at Jardin Orange Gallery in Shenzhen in the summer of 2017, these four pieces were shown alongside his Mosaic Buddha Head crossover collaboration with Wang Shun Kit (one of his earliest high-end sales) and selections from his Mosaic Series.

The energy in that gallery was electric: cultural exchange, live creation, and cross-border appreciation at its finest. Each painting in the series sold the same day they returned from the framer to a discerning Hong Kong collector. That instant validation was incredibly affirming.
