Story and context

90 x 90 cm pixel art inspired oil, metallic acrylics and sand on board consisting of 2304 hand-cut, hand-laid and hand-painted Mosaic tiles

The Tenochtitlan Sun Slinger is a first for Matt Vegh in many ways. First Pixel Art inspired physical painting from his son Nathaniel's original Tenochtitlan NFT Collection of 2,888 NFT's and modified as a custom digital work of art by Matt Vegh as an upgrade and then created as a physical painting. This painting took well over 100 hours of solo grind work by Matt Vegh to complete in his Qingyang Studio in Chengdu. It will also be his first painting that includes his newly created Provenance and Agentic AI connected chip developed with his long-term IT collaborator/partner Chris Song in Chengdu. They have formed the company Eternally Chipped and will test the full service of their chip at the Wei Han Art Gallery Nov 14th 2026 in Xinjin China where this painting along with several other Tenochtitlan themed works will make their debut. This painting is the star of the show.
