Story and context
62 x 122 cm oil and metallic ink wash paper fused to board (242 individual 5 x 5 cm layered ink wash Mosaic tiles)
This piece is one that Matt Vegh wishes he had back, but was part of an 8 painting sale to a collector in Chengdu. It was showcased at the 2019 Golden Panda International Design and Creativity Week in the experiential theater where Matt Vegh and Nathaniel Vegh unveiled their 360 degree touch capable spherical display AI Perpetual Painter and it is the ONLY large format Mosaic to date (as of 2026) that was fused to board with an underlayer of metallic Gold, creating an incredibly luxurious feel.
Truly one of Matt Vegh's early masterpieces. The first ever Mosaic of this size (with a white oil underlayer) resides in his studio gallery in the permanent collection. The early collector of this piece was very fortunate. It is great to be early and there is still time as Matt Vegh is still relatively unknown in Western art circles despite being one of the most prolific artists in art history with a sales and production pace unmatched by any other artist in their first decade of painting.
Rights or provenance
created by Matt Vegh and now in a private collection in Chengdu, China
