The Voices of the Council
Beneath the canopy of stars, the six great tribes took their places. The mountain-dwelling Gorillas sat in stoic silence, their sheer size a testament to their strength. Opposite them, the Orangutans observed with ancient, contemplative eyes, while the aggressive Baboon Legions and the nimble Rhesus and Spider Monkeys filled the periphery with restless energy.
At the center stood the Chimpanzee delegation, led by a figure of growing renown. Trillium Ming, having trekked from the treacherous, mist-shrouded jungles of Western Sichuan, stepped toward the central fire. Her presence commanded an immediate hush. While the other tribes bickered over territory and human encroachment, Ming spoke of a destiny that lay beyond the river, and perhaps, beyond the Earth itself.
