Sometimes an artist begins the preparation for a more intensive piece, but finds such perfection in the underlying foundational work that it becomes the painting. Such is the story of The Golden Ink Wash. This piece is not only special for being the quintessential example of Matt Vegh's ink wash layering process and texturization, but also because it is part of a double-sided masterpiece that includes the Mosaic 2016. The collector of this work owns at least 8 of Matt Vegh's artworks, with more on the way to her in late 2026.
