My jeans are plumb ruined with Texas red dirt and grease....
I’ve been out here since sunup, tanglin' with the weeds and givin' the Jeep a scrubbin' until she shines like a new penny. Now that the moon is climbin' high, I’m finally settled into my ol' cedar rockin' chair on the porch with a cold glass of sweet tea. My sweet girl is curled up at my feet, fast asleep and snorin' like she’s the one who put in a twelve-hour shift in the sun.
Lookin' at the grime under my fingernails, I can’t help but smile at the honest work of it all. It’s just like the law of karma we talk about, you truly do get back exactly what you pour into this world. When you put in the love and the sweat to keep your little corner of the earth beautiful, the universe just seems to hum right back at you. Life is lookin' mighty good from this porch, y'all.
