If you think you've seen every shade of blue, wait until the lights hit the rushing water at Dujiangyan...
Then, the bridge lights flicker on, and suddenly the white foam turns into a surreal, glowing turquoise: the famous ‘Blue Tears’ effect. It makes this massive feat of ancient engineering look like a neon dreamscape from a sci-fi movie.
My advice? Don’t just snap a photo and run back to the car. Lean against the railing, let the sound drown out the world, and watch how the color dances. It’s a reminder that even the oldest parts of Sichuan still have secrets that can take your breath away.

1I have been to that bridge many times. Whenever we have guests in town, it is a 30 minute drive out to Dujiangyan and it always leaves a lasting memory and great photo opps.
