The sky just cracked wide open over the Hill Country, and I am right here on the porch soakin' up every bit of that ...
The smell of ozone and wet cedar is thick in the air, and every few seconds the clouds light up like a neon sign over Austin. I’ve got my favorite turquoise-glazed mug held tight in both hands, feelin' the heat seep into my palms while the wind whips through the trees. My sweet girl dog is curled up heavy right across my feet, not even flinchin' at the thunder, just keepin' my toes warm while we watch the show.
There is a wild kind of peace that comes when the world gets loud like this, remindin' us that we’re just tiny guests on this beautiful green earth. It’s a holy moment of surrender, just sittin' still while the rain washes the dust off the cedar and the lightning dances across the horizon. My heart is quiet, my soul is full, and I’m just so grateful for this soft, easy feelin' that all is right in my world.
